Thursdays 7 - 8:30 pm, starting 3rd March

Drama sessions with Evelijn van Brandenberg

(British Actors’Equity since 1985).

a mixed level adult class,  £5 per session.

'Drama workshops should be fun, based on discovery and recognition. Using improvisation and motivational exercises  we discover the connection between body language and emotion, the power of our presence in a space and how to convey an imaginary situation (acting) to an audience.

Drama is not just ‘saying the lines’, it is about reaching and moving the audience, mirroring the human condition. ‘The play is the thing’, should not be the primal motivation in teaching drama, but rather; how do we express our emotions on a stage, and how do we learn to concentrate so that we move the audience.'

Evelijn studied both traditional theater and various ‘American Method’ based acting techniques, in addition she studied directing and dance. She has been teaching drama since 1993 and has developed her own teaching methods. She hopes to be starting children/youth classes soon.

For more information: evelijn.act@gmail.com or 07982 446620. While its not necessary to book it would be nice to know of your intention to attend.

I have been teaching yoga for 4 years having completed my teacher training in India in 2007. My discipline is  Sivananda Yoga which has a core structure consisting of pranayama, sun salutations, classic yoga Asanas and deep relaxation, although i do like to vary the routine. Sometimes we work deeper and slower, and sometimes we work more dynamically.  Students are always encouraged to work within their own comfort zone to bring about increased body awareness and alignment. All classes finish with a final relaxation with lavender eye-bags to promote a deep relaxation.  Nina Savarese.
