Ashtanga Yoga Beginners Course with Andria Degens
Start date: Weds. 22nd March 6 – 7pm
Providing an ideal way to begin to learn Ashtanga Yoga, the practice builds up slowly week-by-week to give you a strong and safe foundation from which to develop. Modifications will be given, so that the postures are accessible to everyone. During the course you can expect to learn the specific fundamentals of the Ashtanga method, including, breath, sun salutations, standing poses and a simple closing sequence.

Ashtanga Yoga 'Intro to Mysore Self Practice' Course

Start date: Weds. 22nd March 7.15 – 8.30pm
This Introduction is for those who have completed the Beginner’s Course, but perhaps don’t feel quite ready to jump into the drop-in Mysore Self Practice sessions. Mysore Self Practice is the traditional way to continue to develop your Ashtanga Yoga practice. Each student receives personal guidance and assistance. The teaching is tailored to the individual, as in a one to one session, but within a small group setting. The beauty of this course is that everyone is in the same boat, so we all learn to practice this way together. Through some repetition, you'll begin to memorise the sequence at your own pace, giving you the confidence and knowledge to attend any Mysore Self Practice or led Ashtanga Yoga class. I have been teaching yoga for 4 years having completed my teacher training in India in 2007. My discipline is Sivananda Yoga which has a core structure consisting of pranayama, sun salutations, classic yoga Asanas and deep relaxation, although i do like to vary the routine. Sometimes we work deeper and slower, and sometimes we work more dynamically. Students are always encouraged to work within their own comfort zone to bring about increased body awareness and alignment.
All classes finish with a final relaxation with lavender eye-bags to promote a deep relaxation.
